Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Software License Manager for a full-time position with a financial institution located in the Midwest. This role is 100% remote.
Compensation: $90k-$100k a year
Summary
The Senior License Manager will be responsible for managing the administration of software licenses, ensuring contractual compliance, and optimizing cloud usage/license management. This position also involves managing software license information, assisting with the development of IT purchasing standards, and liaising with various departments, including Finance and Legal. The role focuses on maintaining efficient and effective software asset management (SAM) and cloud asset management (CAM) strategies across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Identify cost-saving opportunities for software renewals, licensing, and services, ensuring savings are realized.
- Collaborate with Vendor Management, Finance, Project Leaders, and Business Line leaders to ensure negotiated licenses meet business needs.
- Implement monitoring processes and procedures to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, licensing, and contractual requirements.
- Develop and track key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of the software asset management process.
- Continuously improve and implement a structured Software Asset Management (SAM) and Cloud Asset Management (CAM) strategy and governance program.
- Work with internal teams to manage and defend all internal and external audits of IT license assets.
- Provide leadership in forecasting SAM and CAM needs related to organic growth and acquisitions.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support SAM and CAM initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (5-6 years) in IT Asset Management, specifically Software Asset Management (SAM).
- Strong knowledge of cloud asset management and the ability to manage software licensing and compliance.
- Experience working with vendor management offices (VMO), product managers, finance teams, and business line leaders.
- Ability to develop, implement, and improve SAM and CAM strategies and governance programs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Demonstrates strong critical thinking and sound judgment, with the ability to work independently while also effectively leading and guiding others.
- Confident in making informed decisions without the need for constant direction or approval.
- Must be Certified by the International Association of License Managers (IALM).
