VTEX is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and own backend responsibilities for multi-tenant SaaS platforms. You will act as a technical reference, guiding backend development, scalability, and product evolution to meet global customer demands.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to architectural decisions, and work predominantly with C#. Fluency in English and Portuguese is expected. This remote-friendly role welcomes candidates in Brazil and beyond.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are proactively seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing multi-tenant SaaS solutions and a proven track record in backend development.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will serve as a technical reference for the team, providing guidance and expertise in backend development best practices. You will be responsible for important evolutions of our products in terms of scalability (they're global products!) and product evolution to address main customers demands and market opportunities. Your contributions will directly impact the success and global growth of our organization, making this a truly exciting opportunity.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Currently, we have various open positions available, and throughout the hiring process, we'll match candidates with teams based on their skills and identified level of seniority.

WHO YOU ARE

• You have experience in building backend systems for large-scale applications.
• You have demonstrated experience in a technical guidance capacity, successfully guiding project teams and establishing strategic technical direction;
• You are proficient in multiple programming languages. While we remain language agnostic, it's worth mentioning that this team primarily works with C# as language of choice.
• Someone with academic background preferably in Engineering courses, such as Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related fields.
• You have a proven track record of working with cross-functional teams.
• You thrive in dynamic environments and find them energizing.
• You can effectively communicate in English and Portuguese;
• You are hands-on and curious about AI, using LLMs, automation, and design/dev tools to boost speed, quality, and clarity in your workflow, while staying thoughtful about their limitations, safety, and responsible use.
