Job summary

Sucafina is seeking a senior SAP BASIS professional to own the administration, stability, and evolution of our SAP S/4HANA landscape across multi-country operations. You will handle system administration, upgrades, security, and monitoring, ensuring high availability and robust security.

You will work with Azure-hosted SAP VMs, manage SAP PI/PO, and collaborate with functional and development teams on integration and performance topics.

Qualifications

• Linux/SUSE (SLES) command-line proficiency; SAP landscape runs on SUSE.
• Core BASIS administration: installation, client admin, transport management, monitoring, tuning.
• SAP certificates and STRUST/SSL management.
• PI/PO administration from a Basis perspective.
• SAP Notes implementation through SNOTE; large-volume updates.
• Azure infrastructure management for SAP VMs.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor SAP S/4HANA landscape across multiple environments.
• Perform OS-level administration on SUSE Linux servers.
• Plan and execute SAP upgrades, support packages, kernels, and patches.
• Manage transports, change control, and SDLC across landscapes.
• Design and maintain authorizations, roles, and seg. of duties.
• Monitor health using SAP Solution Manager or ALM.
• Manage SSL/STRUST certificates and secure communications.
• Administer SAP HANA backups, performance, and DR readiness.
• Oversee SAP PI/PO from a Basis perspective, including tuning.
• Manage Azure VM infrastructure hosting SAP systems and restarts.
• Collaborate with dev/functional teams on integration and security.
• Document procedures and landscape architecture.

Summary of the role

We are looking for a senior SAP BASIS professional to own the administration, stability, and evolution of our SAP S/4HANA landscape. This role covers system administration, upgrades, security and authorizations, certificate management, SAP PI/PO administration, SAP Notes implementation, Azure infrastructure management, and Solution Manager or ALM monitoring, supporting an organization with multi-country operations.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor the SAP S/4HANA landscape (Sandbox, DEV, QAS, and PROD), ensuring availability, performance, and stability.
• Perform OS-level administration and troubleshooting on SUSE Linux servers.
• Plan and execute SAP upgrades, support packages, and kernel patches.
• Implement SAP Notes individually or in bulk during major updates, resolving conflicts and dependency issues.
• Manage transport requests and change control across landscapes.
• Design, implement, and maintain authorization roles and profiles; support audits and segregation of duties reviews.
• Monitor system health and performance through SAP Solution Manager or SAP ALM.
• Manage SSL/TLS certificates and secure communications, including STRUST and SSO.
• Administer the SAP HANA database, including backup and recovery, performance, and replication for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Administer SAP PI/PO from a Basis perspective, including system monitoring, adapter engine, communication channels, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Manage Azure VM infrastructure hosting SAP systems, including restarts, health checks, and basic troubleshooting.
• Support system refreshes, client copies, and landscape maintenance.
• Collaborate with functional and development teams on integration, performance, and security topics.
• Participate in incident and problem management and act as the escalation point for critical Basis issues.
• Document procedures and maintain landscape and system documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of SAP BASIS experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA on-premise administration.
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager, including system and technical monitoring; SAP ALM is a plus.
• Hands-on experience performing SAP system upgrades, such as S/4HANA release upgrades and EHP upgrades.
• Solid experience with SAP Authorizations and Roles, including role design, SU24/PFCG, and segregation of duties.
• SAP HANA database administration, including backup and recovery, memory management, performance tuning, and HANA Cockpit or Studio.
• SAP PI/PO administration from a Basis perspective, including installation, configuration, monitoring, adapter engine management, performance, and troubleshooting.
• SAP Notes implementation through SNOTE, including large-volume implementations and resolution of dependency or conflict issues.
• Azure infrastructure management for SAP VMs, including starting, stopping, and restarting VMs and checking VM health and status through Azure Portal, CLI, or PowerShell.

Mandatory Requirements

• Linux and SUSE (SLES) command-line proficiency, including file systems, disk space, kernel parameters, systemd/cron, log analysis, and network and OS troubleshooting. The SAP landscape runs on SUSE, not Windows.
• Core BASIS administration, including system installation, client administration, transport management (STMS), background jobs, system monitoring, and performance tuning.
• SAP certificates and STRUST/SSL management.
• SAP PI/PO administration from a Basis perspective.
• SAP Notes implementation through SNOTE.
• Azure infrastructure management for SAP VMs.

Highly Desired (Big Plus)

• Experience with SAP ALM tools and processes.
• Experience with ECC to S/4HANA migration from the technical/Basis side, including SUM/DMO and conversion pre-checks.

Nice to Have

• SAP Basis or HANA certification.
• Experience working in a multinational or shared-services environment.
