Rove Lab is looking for a Senior Media Buyer to own paid acquisition for one of our product families, end to end. You'll work in a pod, side by side with that product family's Product Owner, with your own Meta and Google accounts and full ownership of how the budget is spent.
This isn't a role for managing agencies, and it isn't a role for chasing platform ROAS. It's about driving profitable growth, hands on the keyboard. You'll build and run the accounts, keep creative testing moving, pace spend to stock and promos, and know when the platform numbers are wrong. Most of the work is on Meta (about 70%), with Google making up the rest.
Fluent: able to communicate in writing and speech with the international team, with at least 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time.
Own the pod's accounts
- Build and run the pod's Meta and Google accounts: structure, naming, audiences, exclusions and conversion setup.
- Manage budgets, bids and campaign mix every day, across Advantage+ Shopping, CBO and ABO on Meta, and Performance Max, Shopping, Search, Demand Gen and YouTube on Google.
Keep the creative testing engine running
- Brief, launch and kill creatives every week with the design team.
- Read hooks, angles and formats, and feed what's winning back to the Product Owner.
Spend with stock and profit in mind
- Scale into confirmed stock, slow down on pre-order, and pace budgets to inventory arrivals with Ops and the Product Owner.
- Manage to blended MER and contribution per order, and hold the floor even when the revenue target is tempting.
Run the big moments
- Plan and run Black Friday, Cyber Monday and seasonal sales, scaling fast without breaking efficiency.
Measure what's real
- Reconcile platform data, Shopify, our attribution tool and post-purchase surveys.
- Run holdout and incrementality tests, and know when platform ROAS is wrong.
Forecast, report and automate
- Share a weekly spend, revenue and MER forecast for the pod, plus a short written recap: what worked, what didn't, what you'll change next.
- Build rules, scripts and AI workflows that remove manual work from buying and reporting.
What we're looking for (requirements)
- Hands on the keyboard: 4+ years buying media yourself, not only managing agencies or other buyers.
- Meta at scale: you've personally run large budgets on Meta for e-commerce and scaled an account through at least one Black Friday.
- Google, solo: you can run Performance Max, Shopping (including Merchant Center feeds) and Search on your own.
- DTC e-commerce on Shopify: ideally high-ticket, where buyers research for days before they purchase.
- Profit thinking: you work in contribution margin, MER and payback, not just platform ROAS.
- Creative judgment: you can say why an ad works and write a brief a designer can execute the same day.
- Analytical depth: strong in spreadsheets and comfortable pulling your own data.
- Ownership: you make calls with incomplete data, explain them in writing and own the result.
Nice to have
- Experience in furniture, mattresses, home or another bulky, high-AOV category.
- Multi-market buying (US, Canada, UK, Australia).
- TikTok Ads, AppLovin or programmatic experience.
- Automations you built yourself (Google Ads scripts, Meta API, n8n or similar).
- Incrementality testing, MMM or post-purchase survey analysis.
- Experience in a pod or squad model next to a product or category owner.
What a typical week looks like
Every day: you check spend, MER and stock for your pod, adjust budgets and bids, see which creatives are winning or fading, and keep the Product Owner in the loop.
Across the week: you launch and kill creative tests with the design team, reconcile the numbers across platforms and tools, share your forecast and a short written recap, and close the week with a clear plan for what you'll change next.
