Job Description

This Senior Full Stack Software Developer role for our Brazil Applications team within the GEO-IS Solutions department involves working with a team of developers supporting our customers and district operations. Our applications enable new capabilities through deploying:

Web Applications

API Integration

Automation

Successful candidates must understand or be able to translate complex business requirements into scalable and reliable solutions, including web & desktop applications, and data & API integrations. A successful Software Developer will excel at:

• Mentoring team members
• Designing, developing, and maintaining resilient applications
• Collaborating with the development team and business stakeholders

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications following Expeditors’ architectural guidelines
• Provide technical leadership throughout the SDLC
• Implement design and modeling best practices
• Collaborate across teams to design secure, scalable, and user-centric solutions
• Ensure timely delivery of quality solutions
• Evaluate and adopt new development methodologies and tools
• Share expertise through coaching and training
• Uphold cybersecurity and internal development standards
• Deploy optimized code, monitor performance, and conduct code reviews and testing
• Translate business needs into technical tasks and documentation
• Support agile processes and maintain work systems (e.g., Azure DevOps)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in object-oriented Java development in a team setting
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field
• Proficiency with Java, Angular, Python, Spring, SQL
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Knowledge of version control and CI/CD tools (Git, GitLab)
• Experience with Eclipse or IntelliJ, Maven, Nexus
• Strong team collaboration skills
• Self-motivated with excellent time management and customer service orientation

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of the freight forwarding industry
• UI/UX design experience
• SAFe or Agile certification

Additional Information

The annual salary is between R$150,000 to R$200,000.

Expeditors offers 26 remote days per year, with the team working onsite to promote growth and satisfaction.

This position is onsite; applicants must be able to commute.
