Asenium is seeking a highly skilled Senior Kotlin Backend Engineer to join our client’s global data engineering team.

Location:

Brazil (Mandatory location, 100% Remote)

Contract:

6 months (Freelance)

Start Date:

ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop scalable backend components in Kotlin with a strong focus on performance and maintainability.
2. Design and integrate APIs, including OpenAPI and webhooks.
3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Product, UI, and Engineering.
4. Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical best practices and guidelines.
5. Troubleshoot, test, and debug backend systems, ensuring high reliability.
6. Write and maintain clean, well-documented code and unit tests.
7. Participate in architectural discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Must-Have Skills:

1. 5+ years of backend development experience, with strong Kotlin proficiency.
2. Experience designing and implementing scalable APIs.
3. Advanced understanding of SQL and database fundamentals.
4. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and automation.
5. Solid grasp of asynchronous programming (e.g., Kotlin Coroutines).
6. Fluent English communication skills (written & spoken).

Nice to Have:

1. Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS).
2. Familiarity with data streaming tools such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark-Streaming.
