Job summary

ADP is hiring a Senior Developer – Roll to build the Roll product, a chat-based payroll app for small businesses. You will join a small team, design, develop and test code, and deploy via CI/CD.

You will work closely with front-end designers, data scientists, developers, and research specialists who value your software expertise and the latest web technologies. This role is hybrid with Porto Alegre office requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years working with Node.js, Typescript, REST, and JSON.
• 5+ years working with ReactJS, and Webpack.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores (GraphQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis).
• Hands-on experience developing Web applications and strong OO design.
• Know how to apply AI tools, and use LLMs where appropriate.
• Advanced or Fluent English skills (medium to high interaction with teams).

• Collaborate with business analysts to define software requirements for programming effort.
• Design and implement front- and back-end interfaces for data and services.
• Support production software operations, test and debug programs.
• Report progress and status of assigned tasks to project teams and managers.

In this role, you will be building the Roll product, one of the most important Human Capital Management solutions at ADP and in the world. Roll by ADP is the first chat-based payroll app for small business.

You will start your day on a scrum call to sync up the sprint work and goal with your team. You will spend most of your day designing, developing and testing your code and supporting your team members. Every week you will be able to deploy your code in production using automated continuous integration and continuous deployment.

You don't need to know every technology, but you're an enthusiastic creator who stays current and looks forward to trying new code. You're always looking for new ways to make tools better for our users.

You will work closely with a small team of front-end designers, data scientists, developers, and research specialists who will value your expertise in software programming, latest web technologies and frameworks. You are comfortable collaborating, but equally capable of working independently.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Minimum 5 years working experience with Node.js, Typescript, REST, and JSON
• Minimum 5 years working experience with ReactJS, and Webpack
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores, i.e. GraphQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis
• Hands-on experience developing Web applications and strong understanding of object oriented design
• Know how to apply AI tools, and use LLMs where appropriate
• Advanced or Fluent English skills (medium to high capacity to interact with other teams)

BONUS POINTS FOR THESE:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline is desired
• Programming skills on other languages such as Java, PHP or Python
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores, i.e. GraphQL, MySQL and Redis
• Experience with Golang
• Experience with cloud providers, mostly AWS
