Description

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a skilled Senior Delivery Consultant - Databases to join our team at AWS. In this role, you'll work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives. You'll be a key player in driving customer success through their cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Possessing a deep understanding of AWS products and services, as a Senior Delivery Consultant - Databases, you will work with customers to migrate their database environments to AWS, architecting complex, scalable, and secure database solutions tailored to meet specific needs. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose effective migration strategies.

As a trusted advisor, you will guide customers on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions, leading the implementation process, ensuring adherence to best practices, optimizing performance, and managing risks throughout the project.

The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts helping customers realize their desired business outcomes using AWS Cloud. We work with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud initiatives, providing tailored guidance and solutions across various industries.

Key job responsibilities

• Designing and implementing complex, scalable, and secure AWS database solutions tailored to customer needs
• Providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support during project delivery
• Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective migration strategies
• Acting as a trusted advisor on industry trends and emerging technologies
• Sharing knowledge through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud architecture and implementation
• 5+ years working with relational or open-source databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Knowledge of non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis)
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Effective communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of customer-facing, large-scale implementation experience
• Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Terraform, Python)
• Expertise in performance optimization and cost management in cloud environments
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
• AWS Professional certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional)
• Knowledge of primary AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, etc.)
