Job description

TROI is an embedded recruitment partner — a new generation of RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing).

We are hiring this Senior Data Analyst role on behalf of one of our clients, an organisation building out its Business Intelligence capability. All applications are managed by TROI on the client’s behalf; further details about the client are shared with candidates during the process.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Analyst within the Data & Analytics (D&A) department, you will sit in a client- and stakeholder-facing BI team. You will take a leading role in proving the organisation’s value proposition — owning the measurement of loyalty campaign ROI end-to-end, setting the analytical methodology behind it, and translating findings into proof points and business insights that shape commercial and operational decisions. You act as a trusted analytical counterpart to senior stakeholders and clients, framing the decision before the analysis and challenging the question where needed, not just answering it.

The role remains hands-on across measurement, analysis, data pipeline building, and report development, but with ownership of the most complex and highest-stakes work. You will partner with Marketing, Sales, and Operations to deliver insights, scale campaign measurement, support commercial proposals, and optimize campaign execution through in-store and digital channels — and you will raise the bar for the team by setting analytical standards, reviewing others’ work, and mentoring less experienced analysts. Working day-to-day with Power BI, Azure ML, and AI tooling, you will drive the shift toward democratized, AI-served insights — delivered faster, embedded with stakeholders, and closer to the decisions they support.

What You’ll Do

In this role you will:

  • Own campaign performance and ROI measurement end-to-end — from methodology (control groups, causal impact, uplift) through delivery — and translate results into proof points that demonstrate the organisation’s value proposition, in close collaboration with Marketing.
  • Lead complex business analyses that support commercial proposals, client conversations, and internal decision-making across Commercial, Delivery, and Operations — framing the decision at stake, quantifying uncertainty and trade-offs, and closing the loop on outcomes.
  • Handle the most ambiguous and high-stakes analysis requests from across the business, turning open-ended questions into structured analyses and constructively reshaping the question where a different one would serve the decision better.
  • Design and build Power BI reports and dashboards, own the underlying semantic models, and set report design and data modeling standards for the team.
  • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines on the client’s Azure data platform, and review the pipeline work of other analysts.
  • Shape the evolution of analytical and AI-served tools (including Enterprise AI / text2sql) that put insights directly in the hands of colleagues and clients, acting as a senior voice on where these tools create most value.
  • Use AI-assisted tooling to accelerate analysis, pipeline, and reporting work.
  • Take ownership of running solutions — monitoring pipelines and reports in production, leading root‑cause investigations, and driving iterative improvement.
  • Champion data governance standards, ensuring trusted, well‑documented outputs across the team and not only in your own work.
  • Play a senior role in agile delivery ceremonies (planning, stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives), mentor junior analysts, and actively develop best practices across the team.
What You’ll Bring
Must‑Haves
  • A degree in a quantitative, business, or information‑related field (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics), or equivalent experience gained through certifications, self‑directed projects, or prior roles.
  • 8+ years in a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or comparable analytical role, including ownership of complex analyses end‑to‑end.
  • Expert SQL skills — writes performant queries against large datasets, works confidently with relational data models, and is a reference point for others on query design and optimization.
  • Advanced applied statistics for business analysis — designs experiments and quasi‑experiments for causal claims (A/B testing, control groups, causal impact) and applies segmentation, cohort, uplift, and forecasting techniques with sound judgment on their limits.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and pipeline work (pandas, numpy, notebooks), producing modular, production‑quality code others can build on.
  • Advanced Power BI skills — semantic model design, DAX, performance tuning, and workspace / deployment practices for production‑grade reporting.
  • Solid experience in cloud data environments, preferably Azure.
  • Strong grasp of data pipeline and ELT/ETL concepts, with practical experience designing and building pipelines on a modern data platform (e.g. medallion architecture).
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals (Git, code review, modular and well‑documented work) and comfort reviewing the work of others.
  • Applies testing practices for data and code (unit tests, data quality checks) as standard, with a strong working understanding of security and privacy considerations when handling client data.
  • Uses AI‑assisted tooling as a natural part of analysis, query, and reporting work, and helps the team adopt it effectively and responsibly.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese.
  • Demonstrable track record of measuring business or campaign performance with causal rigor and influencing the decisions of senior stakeholders and clients.
  • Experience building and owning production‑grade reports in Power BI (or a comparable BI tool) and designing data pipelines in a cloud environment.
  • Confident communicator and influencer — leads with the answer, translates analysis into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders and clients, and defends conclusions under challenge.
  • Curious and analytical, with strong attention to detail, a problem‑solving mindset, and the judgment to know when precision matters and when speed does.
  • Proactive and stakeholder‑oriented — embeds with Marketing, Commercial, and Delivery teams, shapes the right questions, and recognizes decision pitfalls such as anchoring, vanity metrics, and false precision.
  • Comfortable working in an agile, fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities, open to feedback and committed to growing breadth across the data and AI stack.
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Hands‑on exposure to Azure ML and/or Azure AI Foundry.
  • Experience in retail, loyalty, marketing, or campaign analytics.
  • Prior experience mentoring or coaching analysts.
  • Proficiency in Spanish, supporting LATAM and Iberia.
  • Actively explores emerging AI tooling and shapes how it changes the way the team works.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and annual bonus.
  • Opportunities for growth and professional development.
  • A dynamic and supportive work environment where your ideas truly matter.
