Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior BI Support Engineer (Power BI & SSRS) to provide advanced production support for reporting and analytics. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform RCA, and drive continuous improvement for Power BI dashboards and SSRS reports.

You will work in a hybrid model in São Paulo, collaborating with business and technical teams, ensuring SLAs and service excellence while supporting global stakeholders and on-site activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service including data modeling, DAX, and Power Query.
• Solid experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), including report development, deployment and support.
• Strong SQL skills: query development, stored procedures, performance optimization.
• Experience with Power BI Gateway, Row-Level Security (RLS), workspace management, and application publishing.
• Understanding of ETL concepts, data integration, and data warehousing fundamentals.
• Experience in L3 Production Support or Application Support environments.
• Experience with incident management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; advanced English proficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field.

• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and implement permanent solutions.
• Troubleshoot Power BI refresh failures, gateway connectivity, data model challenges and performance bottlenecks.
• Support SSRS report administration, deployment, scheduling, subscriptions, and data source configurations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver timely resolutions while ensuring SLA compliance.

About the role

As a Senior BI Support Engineer (Power BI & SSRS), you will make an impact by providing advanced production support for reporting and analytics solutions, ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of Power BI dashboards and SSRS reports. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, data teams, and technical teams to troubleshoot complex issues, drive root cause resolution, and continuously improve reporting services.

• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and implement permanent solutions to prevent future issues.

What you need to have to be considered
