We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with experience in Golang.

This position is remote.

The candidate will manage various aspects of our backend platform, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and develop products that promote positive cash flow.

You will collaborate with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet that enables seamless account creation and employer linking.

Our ideal candidate is eager to tackle technical challenges and contribute to strategic planning.

Responsibilities

1. Translate product requirements into reliable technical solutions, suggest alternatives, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and implement high-availability RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to promote collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.
7. Document solutions thoroughly, including architecture, APIs, workflows, and configurations.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
9. Collaborate across teams to align priorities and requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications

1. 5+ years of software development experience.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
3. Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go/Golang, Java, Python, or C++.
4. Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
5. Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and optimization.
6. Experience building scalable, reliable applications and microservices.
7. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and serverless architectures.
8. Strong collaboration, communication, and project ownership skills.
9. Experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD tools like Gitlab CI and Github Actions.
10. Knowledge of message queuing systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink is preferred.
