Job Opportunity: Senior Back-End Software Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a full-time, remote Senior Back-End Software Engineer with 7+ years of experience, particularly in Node.js, to join our U.S. client’s engineering team. You will work closely with product stakeholders to develop industry-leading products that support veterinary practices in providing high-quality pet care.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new applications and features
2. Build and enhance applications using Node.js
3. Create, publish, and consume data through clean API endpoints
4. Provide estimates for features, bug fixes, upgrades, and new projects
5. Document applications and frameworks clearly and concisely
6. Write automated unit and feature tests for continuous delivery
7. Discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
8. Support teammates with communication and feedback during code reviews
9. Support the client's mission to improve pet care

Required Experience

• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
• 7+ years of experience working on consumer-facing or high-volume software products
• 4+ years of experience with Node.js and TypeScript (bonus)
• Experience with object-oriented programming, scaling, and performance improvement
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL or other database systems
• Proven ability to deliver production-ready applications on time
• Experience with API creation and consumption (preferably GraphQL)
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services (bonus)
• Team player with a collaborative approach and a can-do attitude

Desired Experience

• University degree or relevant industry experience
• Experience with DynamoDB and Elasticsearch
