Moody’s Ratings and Research Support (RRS) Intern role offers current students an opportunity to develop skills valuable for a career in financial services. This is an internally facing role reporting to a Team Manager, with part-time options (full days or half days) across 6 to 12 months depending on country.

Interns complete project work with real impact, gaining insights into diverse career paths and a comprehensive understanding of Moody’s.

Qualificações

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
  • Strong analytical skills with data interpretation and insights.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsabilidades

  • Support analytical teams with case studies and research projects.
  • Collect data and identify trends to support credit conclusions.
  • Prepare financial documents, charts, and presentations.
  • Monitor media for news on projects or portfolios.
  • Provide analytic support to rating teams and contribute to research publications.

Skills and Competencies
  • Good accounting or statistics background preferred (e.g., through coursework, CFA or equivalent may be required for some, but not all teams)
  • Interest in fixed income markets, credit analysis, financial markets, or related research preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify key insights, and communicate findings clearly through coursework, projects, or prior experience
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage workflow, adapt to changing priorities, and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Proactive with the ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
  • Exposure to data analysis or visualization tools, such as PowerBI, Tableau, KNIME, Alteryx, or similar platforms, preferred
  • Some familiarity with Python, SQL, or other programming/data tools a plus
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools, automation, and data analytics can improve processes and drive efficiency; interest in responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
  • Relevant coursework, academic projects, prior internship, or other hands-on experience preferred
  • Fluency in English is critical, where applicable
Education
  • Students matriculating through college, studying towards a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent qualification, or a Master’s Degree, in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Political Economy, International Relations, Statistics, or another quantitative field
  • Graduation date of 2028
  • Ability to work during program dates: January 2027- January 2028
Responsibilities

Supporting Analytical teams as needed. Examples of analytical work may include:

  • Participate in case studies designed to further analytical understanding
  • Work on various analytical, research, data, process related projects
  • Collect data and identify trends to support well-thought-out credit conclusions
  • Prepare financial documents, charts, and presentations
  • Responsible for monitoring media outlets for news regarding special projects or portfolios
  • Provide analytical and research support to the rating teams
  • Contribute to the creation of high-quality research publications
About the Program

The Moody’s Ratings and Research Support (RRS) Intern position offers current students an opportunity to develop skills that are valuable to any future career in the financial services industry. This will be an internally facing role, reporting to a Team Manager. Interns opportunities are offered to current students who wish to work part-time either full days or several half days (typically 6 to 12-month increments) depending on country.

Interns complete project work determined by their team that have real impact, fostering a sense of accomplishment and professional growth. Participants will gain insights into diverse career paths and cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the company.
