Moody's in São Paulo, Brazil, invites ambitious graduates to join Moody's Local to perform preliminary credit analysis under senior guidance, analyze financial data, build models, and contribute to research and presentations for ratings decisions.

The program starts in January 2027, with training on Moody's methodologies and responsible AI practices to help clients navigate risk with clarity and confidence.

Qualificações

  • Preferably 1 year of relevant experience, including internships
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English
  • Basic understanding of AI concepts and interest in responsible AI practices

Responsabilidades

  • Perform preliminary credit analysis to support ratings, research, analytical outreach, and presentations under the guidance and mentorship of senior team members
  • Conduct quantitative analysis of financial statements, asset performance, and economic and market data, as well as qualitative assessments of business strategy, financial policies, governance practices, and other relevant factors
  • Prepare financial spreadsheets, charts, analytical reports, and presentations in accordance with Moody’s methodologies
  • Build, maintain, and enhance financial models and analytical tools to support credit assessments
  • Analyze data, identify key trends, and apply sound judgment to develop well-supported credit conclusions
  • Develop a strong understanding of Moody’s Local methodologies and apply them effectively in credit analysis
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify and evaluate key factors that influence credit ratings under the guidance of lead analysts
  • Support the ongoing monitoring and surveillance of issuers by preparing data, updating analytical components, and escalating potential credit concerns when appropriate
  • Perform routine administrative and other ad hoc credit-related tasks as assigned by the direct supervisorCollaborate closely with Associates, Analysts, and other team members under the supervision of the direct manager
  • Participate in meetings with issuers, financial advisors, and other market participants to support analytical activities
  • Contribute to research initiatives and special projects as required by the team

Skills and Competencies

Preferably 1 year of relevant experience, including internships

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills

Knowledge of Python and/or Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is a plus

Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and effectively prioritize multiple tasks

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Education

  • Minimum undergraduate/ first level degree in economics, accounting, engineering, business administration, statistics, actuarial science or similar (e.g. bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualifications)

Students expected to graduate within the next 12 months

  • This program will start in January 2027

About the team

You will provide support to monitoring market developments and credit analysis of the rating process on a portfolio of financial institutions. The role provides a chance to define a contribution to the success of Moody’s Local, by providing a range of services that supplies to the credit analysis function performed by Lead Analysts. Cross-training in supporting varying asset classes, rating teams, and methodologies, as part of career progression. Background in financial institutions, accounting, and financial analysis is a plus. You will be encouraged to demonstrate your ability to work successfully in a team environment. Possess organizational skills, demonstrate attention to detail, and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.
