Jabil Brazil is seeking a Quality Inspector and Metrology SME to lead inspection activities across products using optical and tactile measuring instruments. You will establish CMM programs, perform FAI, FIR, and contribute to process improvements on metrology methods.

You will train junior staff, support calibration activities, and ensure compliance with internal procedures and quality standards, acting as GD&T expert on-site.

Responsible for coordinating, assigning, and reviewing inspection with optical and tactile measuring instruments (3D CMM, profilometer, roughness meter, etc) and FAI activities. Also responsible for providing guidance and trainer to less experienced employees on measurement activities. Provides technical system support for the development of inspection methods and their software. Also supports calibration and metrology activities. Acts as a subject matter expert on measurement techniques/methodologies at the site.

Position duties and responsibilities

• Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI), FIR, test reports, incoming, in-process and final inspections
• Establish CMM programs, release, and control according to internal procedure
• Support of New Product Introduction and Design Transfers at the site
• Support and conduct Validation activities (CSV, TMV, Gage R&R, etc.)
• Reviews reports concerning workmanship defects and other quality issues.
• Performs very complex tests and analyses to assure that products comply with established specifications.
• Perform varied product inspections, generally or finished goods, components, incoming materials, or new products, by observing, measuring, and recording data.
• Perform the regular inventory cycle count related to all quarantine areas.
• Prepares documentation that shows the results of tests performed.
• Acts as the principal Subject Matter Expert for GD&T
• Acts as the principal Subject Matter Expert for measurement techniques/-methodologies
• Formulates recommendations for corrective action for management.
• Prepares remedial recommendations.
• Prepares statistical reports on 3D CMM quality control results for management.
• Provides and supervises training on optical and tactile measuring instruments and (special) GMD.

• Compile and inputs data, documents findings and interprets results.
• Implements revisions, corrections and changes to test equipment, procedures, and methods.
• Issues and executes NCR within the software application.
• Acts as owner of actions assigned from quality systems (NCR, CAPA, Audit Observations).
• Compile and maintain quality requirements
