Job Description: Site Operations Supervisor at Saipem

Mission

• Supervise site activities such as commissioning, start-up, and operation, ensuring compliance with established processes and HSE requirements while respecting timelines. Oversee operations procedures, QA/QC certification, fire fighting systems, HSE systems, and control systems. Supervise maintenance, inspection activities, and spare parts reliability for safe operations.
• Ensure safe and efficient commissioning, start-up, and operation of process facilities. Maintain high standards, working shifts, and be on call 24/7.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors on-site.

Tasks

• Ensure all activities comply with HSE standards.
• Participate in safety walkdowns, prepare incident reports, and contribute to investigations.
• Approve work permits during shifts, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
• Identify, report, and follow up on risks and hazards.
• Manage mechanical completion, commissioning planning, and activities.
• Prepare and issue shift reports.
• Supervise pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities according to procedures.
• Support licensors and vendors to meet commissioning and start-up targets.
• Train operators for commissioning, start-up, and normal operations.
• Report gaps and make decisions on equipment stoppages.

During Operations Phase

• Coordinate with control room operators, production operators, and technicians.
• Promote safety awareness.
• Maintain production records and report to the production superintendent.
• Report and propose solutions for deficiencies and malfunctions.
• Ensure safe plant operation per procedures.
• Act as Permit to Work Coordinator when needed.
• Know emergency response procedures.
• Prepare for maintenance and process operation guides.
• Monitor process equipment via control systems.
• Understand safety and loss prevention measures.
• Ensure proper shift handovers.
• Understand chemical injection systems and product specifications.
• Manage daily maintenance and housekeeping.
• Perform other delegated responsibilities.
