JOB SUMMARY
Assists Engineering Services Associates in schematic development and component selection. Provides diagnostic support to manufacturing work-cells and supports JTS NPI efforts when required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in product development by building and debugging prototype units, providing feedback to Engineering Services Associates.
- Design, build, debug, and operate fixtures or apparatus to aid in debugging and validation of designs.
- Assist engineers in component selection, evaluation, and schematic entry.
- Work independently to debug software or hardware by testing all input and output conditions.
- Develop project documentation as needed.
- Record results and test hardware according to Level One test plan.
- Maintain a Log Book for ideas, sketches, and conversations, approved by Engineering Services.
- Contribute as a team member by sharing ideas and improvements for the Design Engineering Lab.
- Manage multiple work assignments effectively.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and promote a "Quality First" attitude within the Engineering Services Department.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent required (Mechanical, Electric, Electronic, Electro-mechanic).
- 6-8 years of experience or equivalent knowledge and skills necessary to perform the responsibilities satisfactorily.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Intermediate level).
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interaction across disciplines and organizational levels.
- Familiarity with testing procedures and equipment, including assisting with tests and component measurements.
- Technical writing skills for work instructions and documentation processing.
- Ability to work independently.
- Database administration skills.
- Ability to interpret electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensional and Tolerance) is a plus.
- Experience with Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) is a plus.
- Knowledge of equipment and gauges, such as Visio systems.
- Experience with installation, programming, and troubleshooting of equipment is preferred.
