QIMA Food is dedicated to helping the global food supply chain ensure food safety, quality, and sustainable practices through inspections, audits, and certifications, supporting food growers, producers, and retailers, as well as food service and hospitality businesses.

Job Description

We are developing a Food Certification platform supporting schemes such as Global GAP, 2nd Party, Organics, and more. Our goal is to streamline certification processes to help customers meet standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. Based in Brazil, our team works remotely with stakeholders worldwide.

You will be expected to:

• Serve as the direct manager for the development team, oversee daily activities, provide guidance, and ensure project alignment.
• Lead performance evaluations, set goals, and support professional development and mentoring.
• Facilitate regular one-on-one meetings to assess performance, address concerns, and give ongoing feedback.
• Assist in deploying software in production, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.
• Support, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
• Improve code quality and test coverage, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

• Final interview with the Software Engineering Director

Qualifications

• Experience as a Technical Lead and Engineering Manager, guiding and mentoring teams, ensuring code quality, aligning technical and business goals, promoting best practices, and managing daily operations.
• Degree or certification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Over 8 years of demonstrable experience in Java, with extensive knowledge and proficiency.
• Deep understanding of design patterns, thread-safe coding, and secure, high-performance software development.
• Solid grasp of domain-driven design, microservices, and distributed architectures.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese for effective communication with a global team.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Web, JSP, and Angular V1.5 & V15+ or similar versions.
• Experience working in Agile environments with development cycles, demos, retrospectives, code reviews, mob programming, backlog grooming, and regular releases.
• Proven experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles.
• Excellent professional communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Familiarity with cloud providers such as AWS, Aliyun, and GCP.
