Job summary

Meta in São Paulo is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to deploy and support the global edge, backbone, and CDN infrastructure. You will work with project management and network engineering to implement plans and ensure reliable production traffic across worldwide deployments.

The role requires 8+ years of IP networking experience, strong knowledge of routing protocols, and hands-on experience with data center design and Linux networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of IP networking experience with deploying, migrating, and supporting service providers, data centers, and/or enterprise network infrastructures.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP)
• Experience in coordinating and executing hardware installation and configuration
• Working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS) and experience with IPv4 and IPv6
• Hands-on experience with enterprise and carrier-class routing, switching, and optical transport platforms
• Knowledge of data center design and operational best practices
• Experience with Linux OS/networking
• Experience in analyzing situations and utilizing problem-solving experiences under pressure
• Proven experience in executing network deployment and/or migration projects simultaneously
• Experiencing interacting with vendors and external parties to drive projects to completion

Responsibilities

Required Skills:

Network Engineer, Deployment & Support Responsibilities:

1. Deploy and support our global production including edge, backbone, and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure
2. Work cross-functionally with project management, network engineering to generate implementation plans including Method of Procedure (MOP) and Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Design Packages (EDP), Scope of Works (SOW), Network equipment and server Rack Face Elevations (RFE)
3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, collaborate as needed to ensure timely resolution
4. Provide technical leadership and guidance during network deployment activities in our POPs, including in the areas of facility power, cooling, rack layout and cable management, physical equipment installation, network equipment configuration, testing, and handoff for production traffic
5. Drive problem management initiatives to solve complex issues that span multiple organizations. Initiatives exist globally across technical infrastructure reliability, policy, security, compliance, and business strategy
6. Help drive and align on workflow management tool requirements - efficiency and automation roadmaps
7. Manage partner engineering team relationships to enable the teams to effectively meet business needs
8. Create deployment install packages and maintain as-built documentation and asset database for network and computing equipment
9. Establish and implement global best practices and contribute to the design of new, scalable network solutions
10. Support the development, testing, and integration of new hardware and software platforms into the network
11. Develop and maintain technical documentation for network infrastructure and services
12. Move to MINIMUM_QUALIFICATION or PREFERRED_QUALIFICATIONS with appropriate business justification
13. Travel 10% to 30%

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience working in a multi-vendor network environment
2. Experience with field-based work in collocation facilities, internet exchanges, and central offices
3. Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl)
4. Network certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or JNCIP
5. Experience with process improvement and systems development, leveraging automation to streamline repetitive workflows
6. Working knowledge of data center power and cooling infrastructure and critical facility operational best practices
7. Familiarity with Linux-based systems
8. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
9. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
10. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
