Job summary

YEW BAN HENG CONSTRUCTION PTE. LTD. is seeking a fleet mechanic to maintain and service vehicles and heavy machinery, ensuring high availability and safety compliance. You will oversee maintenance schedules, perform inspections, and manage parts inventory in our workshop.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in fleet maintenance, hold a Class 3 licence, and can diagnose faults across diesel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems and AC. This role requires hands-on workshop experience.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of fleet maintenance experience.
• Possess Singapore Driving Licence Class 3.
• Experience managing both vehicles and heavy machineries.
• Experience in workshop operations.
• Strong knowledge of diesel and petrol engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems, transmission, brakes, steering and suspension and air-conditioning systems.
• Technical or Vocational qualification in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, equipment troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles and machinery per manufacturer recommendations.
• Monitor equipment performance and reliability.
• Investigate recurring mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and machinery.
• Manage inventory of spare parts, lubricants, tires, batteries and consumables.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance history, service schedules, repair work orders and inspections.
• Ensure safe workshop practices and use of PPE.

About the role

The mechanic will handle maintenance, repair, servicing and inspection of the company's fleet of vehicles and machineries. The role ensures maximum equipment availability, minimizes downtime and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all vehicles and machinery are maintained according to manufacturer recommendations

• Monitor equipment performance and reliability

• Investigate recurring mechanical issues and implement corrective actions

• Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and machinery

• Manage inventory of spare parts, lubricants, tires, batteries and consumables

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance history, service schedules, repair work orders and vehicle inspections

• Ensure safe workshop practices and enforce use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
