Qualificações

• Diploma or bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Design or similar.
• Several years of experience in mechanical product development and design.
• Experience with 3D CAD and preparation of manufacturing documentation.
• Experience in development of mechatronic products is an advantage.
• Experience in medical device development is an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Develop mechanical and mechatronic components, assemblies and product concepts with 3D CAD models and drawings.
• Prepare, assemble, modify and evaluate prototypes and support builds.
• Ensure manufacturable and assembly-friendly designs in collaboration with NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling and Sourcing.
• Plan and perform mechanical verification activities and document results.
• Participate in Design Reviews and implement required design changes.
• Support industrialization, tooling, pre-series builds and Design Transfer to production.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle.

Purpose

The Mechanical Development Engineer is responsible for the development, design and documentation of mechanical and mechatronic product components within customer-specific development projects.

The role transforms technical requirements into functional and manufacturable mechanical designs and Design Outputs, supports prototype and engineering builds, and performs mechanical verification activities.

With a strong hands-on focus, the Mechanical Development Engineer supports the product throughout the development lifecycle - from concept development, detailed design and prototype assembly through manufacturing prototypes and NPI to Design Transfer into production.

Job responsibilities

• Mechanical design: Develop mechanical and mechatronic components, assemblies and product concepts, including 3D CAD models, drawings, tolerances and other mechanical Design Outputs.
• Prototyping and engineering builds: Prepare, assemble, modify and evaluate prototypes and actively support engineering and manufacturing prototype builds.
• Design for Manufacturing: Ensure manufacturable and assembly-friendly designs in close collaboration with NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling and Sourcing.
• Verification: Plan and perform mechanical verification activities, document results and support system-level verification.
• Technical reviews and changes: Participate in Design Reviews, evaluate mechanical risks and implement required design changes.
• NPI and Design Transfer: Support industrialization, tooling activities, pre-series builds and the transfer of released mechanical product data to the manufacturing site.
• Customer and cross-functional collaboration: Discuss mechanical requirements and design solutions with customers, participate in customer reviews and work closely with System Engineering, other development disciplines, NPI, Tooling, Sourcing, Quality and the manufacturing site throughout the development lifecycle.
