AGCO Corporation's PTx unit in Brazil is seeking a Tractor Platform Systems Engineer to adapt and integrate autonomous vehicle tech onto farming tractors.
You'll work hands-on with hardware, CAN networks, ROS, and vehicle interfaces, traveling within Brazil as needed, collaborating with teams in Nebraska and Winnipeg.
This role advances precision agriculture by applying cross-disciplinary engineering to sugarcane operations.
PTx empowers farmers with reliable, user-friendly precision agriculture technology that enhances productivity, profitability, and sustainability throughout the agricultural production cycle.
The goal of Autonomous and Precision Agriculture is to produce more crops with less effort, less impact on the environment and to address issues with labor shortages and sustainable growth.
Are you interested in working with a world leader in autonomous and precision agricultural machinery to redefine the future of the agricultural industry?
We are seeking a Tractor Platform Systems Engineer to join our autonomy engineering team in Brazil. This is a highly hands‑on systems engineering role focused on adapting and integrating PTx autonomous vehicle technology onto agricultural machinery for the Brazilian market.
The initial focus will be adapting an existing PTx autonomy retrofit system, currently developed for John Deere 6M and 8R tractors, to the John Deere 7M platform. This will require developing a detailed understanding of the existing system architecture and designing, building, integrating, and validating the mechanical, electrical, and controls changes required for the new platform.
The engineer will work directly with tractors and prototype hardware, including mechanical mounting systems, wiring harnesses, sensors, electronic controllers, CAN networks, vehicle interfaces, hydraulics, and embedded control systems. The role requires troubleshooting across multiple engineering disciplines rather than within a single technical area.
Following the initial tractor platform integration, the role will expand into autonomous agricultural applications in Brazil, with an early focus on autonomous tractors and carts in sugarcane harvesting operations.
The engineer will be part of a small team in Brazil, working closely with PTx autonomy engineering teams in Nebraska and Winnipeg. The position requires someone comfortable taking ownership of loosely defined engineering problems, working directly with machinery, and carrying a platform from initial investigation through prototype development, field validation, and deployment.
