Primary Purpose of this Position:
Manages complex medium-to-large scale projects using advanced management methodology and processes. Leads project teams and is responsible for ensuring the creation of project objectives and plans to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget. Manages strategic and tactical aspects of large engagements, mitigates risks, reviews and manages deliverables across business units, performs project reviews, and ensures adherence to project management best practices. Works closely with decision-makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective business solutions for Ball Corporation.
What will you be responsible for?
- Create project plans based on business cases, timelines, dependencies, financial factors, and resources, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and on-scope execution.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Agile Team's content and assist in building Agile processes.
- As a Scrum Project Manager, provide regular status reports and updates to senior leadership and stakeholders, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Understand roles and responsibilities within the escalation process.
- Provide project oversight, quality reviews, coordinate deliverable sign-offs, and project reporting.
- Influence decision-making on projects, working with stakeholders, sponsors, and senior management to secure acceptance and approval of deliverables.
- Communicate project expectations, direction, priorities, events, and status clearly and promptly.
- Understand delivery methods (e.g., waterfall, agile) and select or adapt methods to project needs.
- Manage project change processes, assess impacts, and re-forecast value creation.
- Oversee project and supplier activities, ensure quality, and coordinate deliverables.
- Understand the business context to inform decision-making on project approach, risk, issues, dependencies, and constraints.
- Communicate effectively across business and IT stakeholders, especially regarding project changes.
- Conduct risk and issue planning, integrating outcomes into the project plan.
- Build and maintain in-depth knowledge of processes, systems, and data in the relevant area.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Build relationships with team members, vendors, and departments involved in projects.
- Organize Sprint Planning, Review, Retrospective, and Daily SCRUM meetings, ensuring adherence to SCRUM guidelines.
- Empower and shield the Scrum Team from outside influences and distractions.
- Assist the Product Owner with backlog management and process flow development.
- Work collaboratively with the Scrum Team to meet deadlines.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing large-scale initiatives in a technology environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), or PMI-ACP certification preferred.
- Experience managing teams of project managers and delivering projects supporting business goals.
- Proven skills in project scope, goals, deliverables, budget, and risk management.
- Experience in developing business cases and ROI analysis, technology selection, and vendor management.
- Strong project planning and management skills.
