Job summary

Boston Consulting Group is seeking an Intern for BCG X Product Delivery in Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo. You will support the delivery of projects and digital solutions for clients across the oil & gas, refining, chemicals, and energy value chain.

Work at the intersection of business strategy, operations, and technology, translating challenges into practical, high-impact solutions. No prior full-time experience required; student projects and internships welcome.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program and available for internship
• Interest in energy, operations and digital products
• Strong written and spoken English; Portuguese fluency preferred

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of projects and digital solutions for clients in energy value chain
• Work with case teams to diagnose, analyze, and size value opportunities
• Contribute to roadmaps, business cases, and change management activities
• Translate strategic priorities into clear solution requirements
• Assist in workshops and client interviews as needed
• Develop reusable assets and deliverables for client teams

What You'll Do

As an Intern at BCG X Product Delivery, you will support the delivery of projects and digital solutions for clients across the oil & gas, refining, chemicals, and broader energy value chain. You will work at the intersection of business strategy, operations, and technology, helping teams translate operational challenges into practical, high-impact solutions.

This will be a supervised learning program where you work on real product and client problems in energy and industry and see how a consulting-led tech product is built, delivered and improved.

You will work on the identification of value opportunities, and design of use cases across areas such as refining performance, planning and scheduling, margin optimization, emissions reduction, turnaround management, maintenance, reliability, and operational excellence.

You will work closely with BCG case teams, BCG X product and technical teams, and client stakeholders. Your responsibilities may include supporting client interviews and workshops, conducting diagnostics and analyses, sizing value opportunities, developing business cases, and contributing to roadmaps and change management activities.

You will also help translate strategic and operational priorities into clear solution requirements and support the development of reusable assets, industry perspectives, commercial materials, and delivery of playbooks.

You are good at

• Analyzing complex business and operational problems and breaking them into structured components.
• Conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify performance improvement and value opportunities.
• Supporting problem solving across oil & gas, refining, chemicals, energy, and other asset-intensive industries.
• Working effectively with consulting, product, technical, and client teams to gather inputs and develop solutions.
• Translating operational challenges and analytical findings into clear insights and digital solution requirements.
• Supporting value sizing across areas such as margin optimization, planning and scheduling, maintenance, reliability, emissions, and operational excellence.
• Synthesizing data, interviews, workshops, and technical inputs into clear analyses, presentations, and recommendations.

What You'll Bring

What you will bring

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program (engineering, business, economics, energy, operations, information systems or similar), expected to graduate no earlier than July 2027
• Strong analytical ability and curiosity about energy, operations and digital products
• Good Excel and PowerPoint skills; interest in AI tools, whether from coursework, projects or personal use
• Clear written and spoken communication, and eagerness to learn
• Professional English; Portuguese fluency required
• No prior full-time experience required. Student projects, previous internships, case competitions and junior-company (empresa júnior) work can be taken into consideration.
