Working as part of a virtual HR Services team across the Americas region, the role holder acts as a trusted HR and payroll professional adviser for line managers and employees, by providing a consistent and high quality service, in line with company values, policies, and best practice. The role holder is flexible to work across boundaries to resolve complex problems using their HR and payroll expertise, and constantly seeks to deliver excellent customer service to the business and colleagues through continuous process improvement.

What you’ll be doing
  • Full cycle payroll processing and accountability for assigned countries. Brazil with the opportunity to learn and process Argentina, Colombia and Mexico.
  • Accurately and timely monthly compliance and other statutory government reporting.
  • Acts as an honest and trusted HR and payroll professional advisor for line managers and employees alike, providing consistent advice and a clear rationale behind recommended actions.
  • Work with colleagues across People and Culture and wider the HR community to ensure a consistent approach to process and policies, and drive an integrated and high quality service to the business.
  • Works closely with offshore Recruitment Team on all hires and recruitment-related requirements.
  • Provides expert advice on Immigration legislation and activities for payroll compliance.
  • Accountable for working closed with the LATAM Country HR Business Partner for in-country compliance and legislative reporting.
  • Manages the local administration of employee benefits.
  • Supports the Country HR Business Partner team in managing non-complex case management activities in a timely and robust manner (including advising and supporting line managers with informal and formal performance policies and procedures, discipline and grievance cases, and employee redundancy cases).
  • Supports the Country HR Business Partner team for HR transactional activities that must remain within country boundaries.
  • Ensures people data administration is accurate and employee records are up to date.
  • Remains current on all HR and payroll policies, programmes, and practices and stays informed of new (and pending) local laws and regulations.
  • Works closely with the legal team to stay informed of requirements regarding data protection law and regulations. Includes health and benefits enrollment, government and other business registrations.
  • Collaborates and works closely with the regional and global HR, payroll hub, finance, legal and other teams to achieve business objectives and initiatives.
  • Takes an active role in inducting and training new starters to deliver a confident and credible on-boarding experience.
  • Develops a strong understanding of the business in which they operate, and a comprehensive understanding of the local and regional culture and customs.
Essential Skills / Experience
  • Be a role model to promote and create a safety culture with a zero accident mentality, being visible within the field environment and leading by example at all times.
  • Subject matter expert in payroll and HR skills and competencies.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with both individuals and groups at both team member and management level.
  • Ability to utilise PowerPoint and other media formats in a confident manner to present training and coaching content in a classroom environment.
  • Role model of problem solving and effective communication behaviours and a can‑do, proactive and positive attitude. Highly organized.
  • Ability to have honest conversations with team members, setting clear expectations and standards.
  • A true customer champion, with the ability to be solution focused, demonstrating customer empathy in everything you do.
  • Ability to work independently and escalate issues and concerns.
  • Willingness and drive to learn new things.
Desirable Skills / Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. Payroll certification from a recognized institute.
  • Working knowledge of payroll processing and reporting for LATAM countries. Compliance and legal.
  • Graduate level or corresponding experience, and at least 2-3 years generalist HR/payroll experience.
  • Depth of experience and knowledge on complex and specialist HR and payroll issues.
  • Previous experience acting as a consistent and trusted point of contact for managers and employees, and experience of complex query management.
  • Good stakeholder management and relationship skills.
  • Previous experience of working in a HR Service Centre environment and managing within an SLA framework would be an advantage.
  • Experience and working knowledge with payroll and HR Information Systems. SAP, ADP Globalview, ADP Streamline or ADP Celergo.
  • Team player, adept at driving the right customer outcomes through a challenging and supportive style, whilst consistently delivering on your own commitments.
  • Experience working in a multinational company environment.
  • Building mutually beneficial relationships and is the local face of HR to the business and colleagues.
  • English and Portuguese written and spoken language working competency required. Spanish a plus.
