Summary
Plans and administers all aspects of the organization's human resources functions as well as its relationship with benefits providers by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Work with the Executive Leadership Team to strategically develop and plan HR initiatives to align with overall corporate objectives.
Lead and guide the Payroll and Benefits Specialist by overseeing employee payroll and benefits administration, ensuring all employee changes are updated and accurate.
Lead talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation initiatives, and key HR initiatives.
Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant.
Updates and maintains the employee handbook and other policies and procedures. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Plans and conducts new employee orientation, onboarding, and check-in on new hires and managers as required by the onboarding process.
Advises Executive Leadership and Management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and disciplinary matters.
Organizes performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
Oversees Performance Improvement Plans and works with Manager or Supervisor to track progress and compliance.
Co-investigates accidents with the Manager or Supervisor and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and coordinates and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Administers safety program, conducts safety meetings, and ensures our safety program meets all of the qualifications to remain eligible for the Worker’s Compensation discount.
Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages the Payroll and Benefits Specialist. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Education, Experience, And Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field from a four-year college or university and five years’ experience as an HR Manager or Director is required for the position. Previous experience in an industrial setting is a plus.
SHRM Professional certification is required for this position.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, and individual should have an extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite; payroll systems software; order processing and inventory software; and Human Resource systems.
Location and Travel
This is an in-person position at the Bethlehem, PA Headquarters and is not a remote position. Regular overnight travel to our distribution centers in the eastern U.S. is required. Sometimes, video conference sessions will negate the need for travel.
Salary Range
$70,000 - $120,000 commensurate with experience
