Position Title: Family Advocate (FT) - ($18/hr to $22/hr)

Essential Functions Of The Family Advocate
- Foster current relationships between youth and all identified permanency resources, focusing on safety, control, connectedness, and opportunity.
- Aid youth in identifying and utilizing written, verbal, and physical interactions with those they wish to become permanency resources.
- Oversee and conduct post-visitation follow-ups, including timely submission of follow-up paperwork, with those identified by youth as permanency resources post-visit.
- Complete preliminary safety plans with youth to address crises or critical incidents during visitations.
- Address and report any crises or critical incidents during permanency resource visitations, as defined by agency and regulatory protocols.
- Attend external and internal trainings; complete all required training hours and annual training as mandated by funder and licensing regulations.
Minimum Qualifications For The Family Advocate
- High school diploma or GED; two years of experience working with adolescents preferred, lived experience considered.
- Must be 21 years or older, with ability to align with the goals and philosophies of the independent living program.
- Sound judgment and knowledge of adolescent development and behavior.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Creative, flexible, and capable of working with diverse populations.
- Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and inspection; passing annual motor vehicle clearance required.
- Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite); familiarity with databases is a plus.
- No criminal or child abuse convictions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lived experience.
- Ability to navigate stairs (some locations are not handicap accessible).
Physical Requirements
- Sedentary work involving sitting/standing; occasional navigation of stairs.
- Light work (lifting up to 20 pounds); occasional medium work (up to 50 pounds).
