Role Overview

Canonical is a leading provider of open-source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in enterprise initiatives such as cloud, data science, AI, engineering, and IoT. We are expanding our sales team to include roles for Sales Representatives, Managers, and Directors in mission-critical industries like Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, and Telco. Candidates should be familiar with embedded Linux and RTOS. We are hiring globally, accommodating candidates with access to substantial markets, and plan to expand our leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and develop new business opportunities in targeted industries
• Build and execute territory sales plans
• Develop pipeline through outreach, marketing, and industry events
• Close contracts to meet or exceed sales targets
• Manage customer relationships throughout the sales cycle
• Collaborate with technical teams to understand customer needs
• Maintain accurate sales data and forecasts
• Establish relationships with key decision-makers
• Travel regionally and internationally for client engagement and company events

Qualifications

• Strong academic background in high school and university
• Degree in a technical field
• Experience in field sales of embedded or enterprise software
• Proven sales success and large account management
• Passion for technology and personal projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
• Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and attend international events
