We are hiring an Embedded Linux Field Engineering Manager to lead a regionally-focused team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services activities, assisting customers with solution architecture, design, and delivery.
Location: This is a remote role, managing a team in one of three regions: Americas, EMEA, or APAC. You must be located in one of these regions to manage the team spanning multiple time zones.
Our IoT mission is to enable companies to create secure connected devices. Canonical provides the Ubuntu OS and kernel, with secure update and management mechanisms. Our customers develop mission-critical control systems, gateways, and appliances that meet high security and quality standards. We aim to extend this security to the consumer electronics and device markets.
Our Field Engineers are thought leaders and hands-on technologists who help customers solve complex problems. They are passionate about achieving technical and business goals and demonstrating how open source and connected devices can bring innovative solutions to edge computing. They also focus on developing their colleagues’ skills and understanding of customer business needs.
This role requires a blend of skills, including proficiency in Linux and scripting, experience with embedded Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development methodologies. Candidates should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be driven, ambitious, and team-oriented.
Desirable traits include RTOS experience, additional languages, and experience working in remote, diverse, distributed companies.
