Key Responsibilities

• Unload Asphalt Cement Oil from bulker to storage tanks under strict safety procedures
• Perform maintenance and service on the asphalt plant when required, including lube, fuel and grease activities
• Communicate with outgoing asphalt truckers on queuing and positioning under silo
• Perform general yard and tool shed housekeeping
• Perform clean up under the feed bins, conveyors and transfer points
• Practice open 2-way radio communication with the asphalt plant crew to ensure plant is properly maintained and constantly monitored
• Ability to perform work in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work periodic night shift
• Back up loader operator as required
• Back up plant loadout operator as required
• Back up recycle yard scale operator as required
• Any other duties as required

Required Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum one year of experience in asphalt plant production and/or operations.
• Must have a valid driver license and own a vehicle
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly
• The ability to understand and interpret written material, especially technical material, rules, regulations, instructions, and reports; applies what is learned from written material to specific situations.
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to respond appropriately to the needs and capabilities of others; adjusts approaches to suit different people and situations.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions for self and others sufficient to be able to establish a safe work environment.
• Knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures sufficient to be able to assist in developing and maintaining programs for preventive maintenance.
• Skill in interpreting and applying written guidelines, precedents, and work practices to standardized work situations or specific cases.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees.
