Location: Remote (Company headquarters are in Europe)

About Us: We are an innovative startup developing a software platform for the clean energy sector (solar, wind, battery, hydropower, electrical vehicles,...).

Our main product is a cutting-edge SAAS platform for simulation and optimization of clean energy systems to accelerate the energy transition.

We are seeking a talented DevOps and Software Developer to join our dynamic team and work directly with our Lead Platform Developer. As a small but growing startup, we value individuals who enjoy challenges, think independently, and are comfortable working across multiple roles and technologies. If you have an interest in clean technologies and working with large industries—our software is already used by clean energy giants worldwide and we are passionate about improving access to clean electricity!

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate workflows.
• Manage and monitor scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based infrastructure.
• Deploy new versions regularly.
• Ensure system security and availability through monitoring, vulnerability management, and updates.
• Automate backups and enhance system resilience.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability.
• Propose improvements in system scalability and automate product deployment and migration (e.g., Kubernetes or other techniques).
• Manage, optimize, replicate, and backup large databases using PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Django REST framework.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Software Developer with a focus on DevOps, backend development, or system administration.
• Proficiency in Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and TimescaleDB.
• Strong knowledge of Django REST framework and building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with containerization solutions and scaling resources; proficiency with Git version control system.
• Openness to working with an alternative cloud provider (not AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) for security reasons.
• Ability to handle heavy distributed computation and large datasets.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently remotely.

Optional Qualifications:

• Experience in renewable energy and energy storage sectors or related fields.
• Experience with ReactJS for frontend development.
• Knowledge of optimization algorithms and simulation techniques.
• Experience with penetration testing and cybersecurity.
