Caterpillar Brazil is seeking a Design Engineer for the Electric Power Division to own the design and development of diesel and gas gensets, providing factory support to solve complex technical problems and meet production timelines.

You will work with cross-functional teams to drive corrective actions, improve product reliability, and contribute to continuous improvement, documentation, and global standardization. CAD software proficiency and CREA registration are required.

Qualificações

  • Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering degree with CREA registration.
  • Intermediate English required; strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Design and develop mechanical and electrical components for diesel and gas gensets.
  • Support other engineers during product maintenance, development and testing.
  • Drive resolution of design defects and quality concerns in current production.
  • Provide technical leadership in deviations affecting performance, quality, and manufacturability.

Job Summary

As a Design Engineer for Electric Power Division (EPD), you will be taking ownership of diesel and gas gensets. You will be providing factory support to solve complex technical problems, to maintain regular production to meet customer delivery dates. You will work with people across multiple organizations expanding your professional contacts and develop an understanding of the diversity of Caterpillar and its systems.

What you will do
  • Work in the design and development of mechanical and electrical components for diesel and gas gensets.
  • Support other engineers during product maintenance, development and testing.
  • Drive the resolution of complex product design defects and quality concerns for current production products.
  • Provide technical leadership in the assessment and disposition of engineering deviations impacting product performance, quality, and manufacturability.
  • Champion process improvement projects that deliver measurable business results and support global standardization efforts.
  • Own the maintenance and continuous improvement of engineering documentation, processes, and design guides.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and enhance product reliability.
  • Communicate technical information and project status to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Support NPI, NSI, PCI, and CPI programs, ensuring successful implementation and integration within manufacturing operations.
What you will have
  • Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Basic requirements
  • Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering degree and CREA registration
  • Intermediate English
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work successfully in a team environment

  • Industry background in industrial equipment, automotive, or electrical manufacturing environments
