Jobgether is seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Python, and Google Cloud Platform. You will contribute to data-processing pipelines with Dataflow, Kafka, MySQL, and Spanner in a distributed environment.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance software solutions. In this role, you will contribute to the development of backend applications and systems, with a strong focus on Java, Python, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work with modern technologies and distributed data-processing tools, including Dataflow, Kafka, MySQL, and Spanner, to build reliable and efficient solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will help translate technical requirements into high-quality software while promoting best development practices. You will also contribute to technical decisions, support team members, and continuously improve system performance and maintainability. Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications, software systems, and services using Java and other relevant programming languages.
• Translate project specifications and business requirements into efficient, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
• Develop and optimize backend components and data-processing solutions using Java, Python, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Dataflow, and Kafka.
• Work with relational and distributed databases, particularly MySQL and Spanner, writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Design and integrate services using REST APIs and JSON-based communication.
• Implement and maintain containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and related technologies.
• Perform software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve defects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and reliable performance.
• Document developed code and technical solutions to facilitate future maintenance, updates, and knowledge sharing.
• Provide technical guidance and support to development team members, contributing to high-quality engineering practices and successful project delivery.
• Research, evaluate, and adopt new technologies and tools to improve software performance, efficiency, and scalability.
• Monitor applications and systems in production using tools such as Datadog, proactively identifying issues and implementing improvements.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and development workflows using tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, UrbanCode, and Spinnaker.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an Agile environment, ensuring delivery timelines, technical quality, and alignment with project objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong professional experience in backend software development, particularly using Java.
• Advanced knowledge of programming languages, software development frameworks, and related technologies.
• Experience with Python and cloud-based development, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Practical experience with GCP services and data-processing technologies, particularly Dataflow and Kafka.
• Solid knowledge of relational and distributed databases, especially MySQL and Spanner, including the ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Experience with REST API development and integration, as well as JSON-based data exchange.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with application monitoring and observability tools, particularly Datadog.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools, including Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, UrbanCode, and Spinnaker.
• Experience with version control systems and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software development best practices.
• Advanced knowledge of software architecture, code quality, performance optimization, and maintainability.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance and work effectively within development teams.
• Relevant certifications in programming languages, cloud platforms, or Agile methodologies are considered an advantage.
