John Deere seeks a Data Scientist focused on SAP MM Procurement in Indaiatuba. You will develop AI capabilities to support global procurement, integrating with SAP MM and leveraging data, APIs, and cloud tech to deliver scalable value.

Based in Indaiatuba, you’ll collaborate with software engineers and business partners, applying MLOps and exploring Generative AI and RAG-driven approaches to procurement challenges in a fast AI-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Advanced English proficiency for global collaboration.
• Hybrid work availability with on-site presence in Indaiatuba three times per week.
• Experience with Python, SQL, statistics, and machine learning.

• Design and develop AI and Machine Learning capabilities for global Procurement solutions.
• Integrate AI into SAP MM applications and create new AI-powered experiences.
• Work with data, APIs, enterprise systems, and cloud technologies to build scalable solutions.

About The Role

As a Data Scientist - Focus on SAP MM Procurement based at John Deere Regional Office in Indaiatuba you will you will help shape the future of Procurement by developing intelligent solutions that combine Software Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, Data, and SAP technologies to support global operations and deliver business value at scale.

• Design and develop AI and Machine Learning capabilities for global Procurement solutions.
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing SAP MM applications and help create new AI-powered experiences.
• Work with data, APIs, enterprise systems, and cloud technologies to transform business problems into scalable solutions.
• Explore and implement Generative AI, LLM, and RAG-based solutions for real Procurement challenges.
• Contribute to the architecture and evolution of applications in an increasingly AI-first software landscape.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product teams, and business partners to understand customer problems and translate them into technology solutions.
• Help establish modern engineering, AI development, MLOps, data quality, and governance practices.
• Experiment, learn fast, challenge traditional approaches, and help us define what the future of Procurement software could look like.

What Skills You Need

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education qualification completed in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively in a global environment.

Availability to work in a hybrid model, with on-site presence in Indaiatuba, SP, three times per week.

• Experience with Python, SQL, Statistics & Probability, and Machine Learning.
• Knowledge of Data Engineering fundamentals, Databricks/Apache Spark, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and API integrations.
• Familiarity with MLOps, Data Visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau), Data Governance, Data Quality, Git, and GitHub.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with Multi-Agent Systems, AI Solution Architecture, or Natural Language Processing (NLP).
• Knowledge of Vector Databases such as OpenSearch, Pinecone, or Azure AI Search.
• Experience with Deep Learning, Containerization, and Software Architecture & Design Patterns.
• Understanding of Responsible AI, AI Governance, and the development of scalable AI-powered enterprise solutions.
