UL Solutions seeks a Conformity Assessment Program Specialist to support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of conformity assessment programs in Brazil and other markets. You will liaise with regulatory authorities, industry stakeholders, operations, and quality teams to ensure schemes remain current and effective.

The Regulatory Services team plays a critical role in supporting UL Solutions' conformity assessment activities across multiple industries and regulatory frameworks. The team works closely with regulators, certification bodies, industry associations, quality teams, and operational stakeholders to develop, maintain, and improve conformity assessment programs that support market access and regulatory compliance.
By monitoring regulatory changes, participating in industry discussions, and helping shape certification schemes, the team ensures UL Solutions remains aligned with evolving market requirements while delivering high-quality services to customers and regulatory authorities.
The Conformity Assessment Program Specialist supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of conformity assessment programs. This role serves as a key liaison between regulatory authorities, industry stakeholders, operational teams, and quality functions to ensure certification schemes remain current, effective, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will conduct research and analysis on regulatory and conformity assessment topics, monitor changes to standards and regulations, support the development of new certification programs, and contribute to strategic initiatives that help drive UL Solutions' conformity assessment services in Brazil and other markets.
This position is ideal for professionals with experience in certification, regulatory affairs, product compliance, quality systems, or conformity assessment programs who enjoy working at the intersection of technical requirements, regulatory developments, and business strategy.
This position follows a hybrid work arrangement, with employees expected to work from the São Paulo office three days per week and work remotely two days per week.
Conduct research and analysis on a range of conformity assessment, regulatory and technology issues in support of function responsibilities including:
Conformity Assessment Scheme development,
Conformity Assessment Scheme Management and/or,
Consultation activities.
Develop and present conclusions and recommendations related to research and analysis activities.
Take a new perspective on existing solutions and exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
Support projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for on-going activities or objectives.
Monitor regulatory developments and upcoming changes from organizations such as Inmetro, Anatel, and other regulatory authorities.
Assist in the development and implementation of new conformity assessment schemes and certification programs.
Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into internal procedures and operational processes.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across conformity assessment programs.
Collaborate closely with Quality, Certification, Inspection, and Technical teams.
Participate in industry associations and working groups to remain informed on market developments and emerging regulatory initiatives.
Support internal stakeholders with regulatory and conformity assessment expertise.
Maintain awareness of market trends that may impact current or future conformity assessment services.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, International Relations, Business Administration, Political Science, Quality Management, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in conformity assessment, certification, regulatory affairs, compliance programs, quality systems, or related disciplines.
Experience interpreting and applying regulatory requirements, certification schemes, standards, and conformity assessment frameworks.
Working knowledge of Brazilian regulatory programs, including organizations such as Inmetro, Anatel, and other relevant regulatory authorities.
Ability to monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on certification programs, operational activities, and business processes.
Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting certification schemes, compliance programs, procedures, work instructions, or regulatory frameworks.
Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to evaluate complex regulatory and technical information and translate it into practical recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate meetings and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and customer service.
Advanced English proficiency, including the ability to participate in meetings, collaborate with global teams, and prepare professional documentation.
Experience working for a Certification Body, Testing Laboratory, Inspection Body, Regulatory Authority, or Product Compliance organization.
Familiarity with ISO/IEC conformity assessment standards and the CASCO toolbox.
Experience collaborating with regulators, industry associations, accreditation bodies, or standards development organizations.
Knowledge of certification programs related to electrical products, telecommunications, consumer products, or industrial equipment.
Experience participating in industry working groups, committees, or trade associations.
Understanding of quality management systems and certification processes.
Additional language skills, particularly Spanish or Portuguese.
