Manpower Malta is seeking a Commercial Lawyer (FinTech & Payments) to join their Legal Department. The role provides strategic legal guidance across commercial, regulatory, corporate, compliance, technology, and data protection matters for international operations.

The successful candidate will work with senior management and stakeholders to support growth initiatives, technology agreements, governance, and data protection matters in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Competenze

• Fully qualified Lawyer with strong academic credentials.
• 2–3 years post-qualification experience in commercial law.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Fluent in English; another European language is a plus.
• Capable of independent work and effective teamwork.
• Fintech/payments sector experience is advantageous.

On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Commercial Lawyer (FinTech & Payments).

Our client is a dynamic international organisation operating within the financial technology and digital payments sector. Due to continued growth and expansion, they are seeking a commercially focused Lawyer to join their Legal Department. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior management and business stakeholders, providing strategic legal guidance across commercial, regulatory, corporate, compliance, technology, and data protection matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of commercial, corporate, regulatory, and compliance matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of legal agreements and corporate documents.
• Advise stakeholders on commercial contracts, technology agreements, software licensing, data protection, and corporate governance matters.
• Support business growth initiatives, international expansion projects, and strategic transactions.
• Ensure that business operations remain compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards across multiple jurisdictions.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and provide practical recommendations to mitigate legal and commercial risks.
• Coordinate with external legal advisors and counsel on corporate, regulatory, and dispute-related matters.
• Assist with corporate filings, governance requirements, and legal administration activities.
• Promote legal awareness and best practices throughout the organisation.
• Undertake additional legal and compliance responsibilities as required.

The successful candidate will provide advice and assistance in relation to:

• Commercial agreements and business contracts
• Employment-related agreements
• Consultancy and contractor agreements
• Corporate governance and corporate structuring matters
• Non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements
• Software licence, maintenance, and support agreements
• Data processing and data protection agreements
• Supplier and procurement contracts
• Escrow and third-party service arrangements
• Managed services agreements
• Regulatory compliance obligations
• Mergers, acquisitions, and strategic business transactions

Requirements

• Fully qualified Lawyer with excellent academic credentials and a strong professional standing.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of post-qualification experience gained within a reputable commercial law firm or an in-house legal environment.
• Solid understanding of commercial, corporate, technology, and regulatory legal matters.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to deliver practical legal solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in an additional European language will be considered an asset.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of taking ownership of responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the fintech, payments, financial services, technology, or software sectors will be considered an asset.
• Exposure to data protection, ESG, insurance-related matters, and international corporate structures would be advantageous.
