Your Job:
Managing and continuously developing integrated Accounting (IFRS and local GAAP), Controlling, Actuarial, Investments, and Treasury teams on-site, with ongoing efforts to strengthen and streamline processes.
Involvement in client workshops, pitches, and trainings, contributing with a CFO perspective to client deal teams.
Managing headquarter interfaces, e.g., with RI CFO, RIA, RIC, Central Reserving, CAP, GIM.
Assuming subsidiary perspective in financial and business controls, combining management and legal views for MRdB.
Punctual and high-quality delivery of reporting packages of MRdB to Munich, especially regarding quarterly IFRS and Solvency II closing.
Timely delivery of local reporting demands, such as biannual balance sheet publication, including external audits, monthly statutory reports to regulators, and fulfillment of local tax requirements.
Proactively driving successful implementation of group-wide projects, such as IFRS 17 and IFRS 9.
Securing ongoing compliance with local regulatory and capital requirements and maintaining an efficient capital position.
Driving the process of effective retrocession buying across all business lines with involved retrocession partners.
Offering strategic consultancy to headquarter and local management by presenting transparency on value drivers and VBM-based portfolio steering, contributing to operational decision-making.
Managing and challenging strategic and annual planning processes.
Steering local actuarial functions for MRdB and ensuring reserve adequacy from both local and IFRS perspectives.
Tracking organizational development and monitoring an efficient primary cost structure, seeking potential cost savings.
Monitoring strategic initiatives and business opportunities supporting top- and bottom-line objectives and target ambitions.
Representing MRdB in CFO-related matters to regulatory and tax authorities, local and external auditors.
Managing finance, regulatory, and legal tasks for the MRM admitted license in Brazil.
Your Profile:
Experienced professional with excellent influencing and interpersonal skills and a strong sense of collaboration.
Global mindset, ability to navigate in an international environment, and build solid relationships.
Thorough knowledge of IFRS standards (especially regarding reinsurance and investment accounting), controlling, actuarial, taxation, corporate finance, and regulatory topics.
Experience with local GAAP accounting (ideally Brazilian GAAP) is desirable.
Excellent analytical, conceptual, and project management skills.
High degree of self-organization and reliability.
Motivated, proactive, and driven for excellence.
Confidence and diplomacy to challenge peers, auditors, and manage upwards, aiming for optimal solutions.
Business-fluent spoken and written English; Portuguese would be advantageous.
