BizOps at Brex

The BizOps team sits at the intersection of strategy, systems, and execution. This new Technical Operations team will focus on building internal tools, automations, and intelligent workflows in platforms like Retool to power every team across the company. We're building a best-in-class AI-native operations org, and this role will be instrumental in turning that vision into reality.

What You’ll Do

You’ll partner cross-functionally with teams like Engineering, Operations, Product, Data, and Product to build tools that drive scale and efficiency. Your work will be highly visible, high-impact, and deeply technical — but not in the traditional engineering sense. You’ll use JavaScript, SQL, and business context to build the systems that run Brex.

Where you’ll work

This role will be based in our São Paulo office. You must be willing to work in office at least 2 days per week, on Wednesday and Thursday, starting the week of September 1st, 2025, when we open our Sao Paulo office.

Employees will be able to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year, for a minimum of one week at a time.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and scale internal tools using Retool, APIs, and custom logic (JavaScript + SQL)
• Design intelligent, AI-powered workflows that improve automation and decision-making across Brex
• Own end-to-end delivery of internal tooling — from scoping to architecture to iteration
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Data, and Product to translate business needs into scalable systems
• Contribute to the long-term strategy for Brex’s internal platform and automation roadmap
• Champion best practices for internal tooling, documentation, and reliability
• Actively explore and integrate new AI tools and frameworks into internal ops
  
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical operations, internal tools, or systems/automation roles
• Fluent in JavaScript, Python and/or SQL; you will be writing and reviewing code regularly
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work through ambiguity with minimal guidance
• Comfortable ramping up quickly on business context and cross-functional priorities
• Experience building internal tools or automations that support non-technical users
  
  

Bonus points

• Experience with tools like Retool, Salesforce, Hex, Looker, or OpenAI APIs
• Familiarity with modern AI coding environments (e.g., Cursor, LangChain, Reka, etc.)
• Background in fintech, B2B SaaS, or data-heavy operational environments
• Built or contributed to internal platform or systems strategy in a previous role
