We are looking for a Business Analyst who will support the Network Services Division at Caterpillar IT. In this role this person will be accountable for tracking all spend approval, PO creation, and invoicing for the Network Services End Of Life program.
The Network Services EOL program is an annual project at Caterpillar that is designed to replace one sixth of the LAN and WLAN equipment at our sites each year. The candidate will manage the spend folder creation process and ensure the Request For Investments (RFI) is created correctly. They will then create the needed purchase orders and ensure everything is received and invoiced in the purchasing system (Coupa). They will also use all this data to help forecast the overall program spend in alignment with the budget.
Develop and maintain annual and multi-year financial forecasts.
Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets.
Analyze variances, risks, and opportunities related to program spending.
Support annual budget planning and quarterly forecast cycles.
Prepare financial reports and presentations for leadership reviews.
Coordinate funding approvals and investment requests.
Manage purchase order (PO) creation, tracking, and reconciliation.
Partner with Procurement teams and suppliers to ensure smooth purchasing operations.
Monitor spending commitments and resolve procurement issues.
Support contract execution and vendor engagement activities.
Validate invoices against contracts, purchase orders, and delivered services.
Support accounts payable activities and payment tracking.
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies.
Maintain documentation required for audits and compliance reviews.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution.
Track financial performance across multiple infrastructure projects.
Ensure adherence to Caterpillar financial controls and procurement policies.
Provide data-driven insights to support business decisions.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Pre-Advanced English
- Experience in:
- Experience with purchase orders, invoice processing, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience supporting IT Infrastructure or Technology programs.
- Experience with SAP, Coupa, or other enterprise financial and procurement systems.
- Knowledge of capital investment planning and project funding processes.
- Experience creating executive-level financial reporting and presentations.
- Familiarity with project lifecycle management.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and large-scale procurement initiatives.
- Experience working in global and cross-functional environments.
Note: This position requires the candidate to work on-site five days a week.
