CTdoAgro is selecting a Business Development and Innovation Director for its client Agrihold, the holding company for Agrotec S.A. (PY) and Alta Defensivos (BR).
The position was created to strengthen the company’s ability to assess and structure opportunities that may become part of its future business portfolio. The professional will be responsible for organizing the opportunity pipeline and defining criteria for analysis, prioritization, and monitoring. The role will also involve transforming selected initiatives into structured projects, with assessed feasibility, clearly defined responsibilities, and formal presentation to the Board of Directors for decision-making.
The position will have a cross-functional scope across the group’s companies and departments, covering business development, innovation, strategic partnerships, and contracts
EXPECTED PROFILE
We are seeking an executive with experience in the crop protection and agricultural inputs market, with a track record in business evaluation and project management—spanning everything from initial analysis to implementation.
The ideal candidate will combine a holistic view of innovative sector technologies and long-term strategy with skills in project management, business cases and plans development, project feasibility analysis, and execution. The ability to navigate across technical, commercial, financial, and executive functions, integrating stakeholders involved in each initiative (essential).
From a behavioral perspective, the position requires direct communication, objectivity, organization, and a collaborative approach to decision-making. The professional must work autonomously, remain focused on market results, and maintain a cooperative approach.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor markets, technologies, and agribusiness developments, identifying opportunities related to new business, markets, platforms, and businesses that are complementary or adjacent to current operations;
- Structure and manage the opportunity pipeline, defining criteria for screening, analysis, prioritization, and monitoring;
- Assess the strategic fit and the technical, commercial, financial, and operational feasibility of initiatives;
- Develop and present business cases and business plans, recommending to the Board of Directors which projects should move forward;
- Lead approved projects by establishing stages, responsibilities, deadlines, risks, indicators, and monitoring mechanisms;
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and integrate the technical, commercial, financial, and executive areas involved in project analysis and execution;
- Align the strategies of the group companies within Research and Development programs;
- Integrate the areas involved in product development, contribute to launch plans, and monitor projects through to commercial application;
- Manage, together with the Board of Directors, relationships with current strategic partners, while identifying and developing new partnerships with B2B companies and national and international suppliers;
- Monitor partnership indicators, deliverables, and commitments, presenting KPIs to the Management Committee and proposing adjustments when necessary;
- Participate in the structuring, negotiation, formalization, and management of contracts, monitoring obligations, deadlines, responsibilities, commercial terms, amendments, and renewals;
- Participate in the analysis and leadership of strategic business development projects, assessing market information, projections, and financial feasibility;
- Act as the link between the company, partners, financial institutions, and internal teams;
- Support the structuring of projects that require financing and the qualification of initiatives for national or international funding programs focused on innovation;
- Lead the development and implementation of the five-year Strategic Business Plan;
- Assess market trends and technological changes to support the definition of the future positioning of the businesses;
- Integrate Marketing decisions with innovation, product development, and business development strategies.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.

- Experience in the crop protection and agricultural inputs market within multinational companies;
- Experience in business strategy and Strategic Marketing;
- Project management and leadership of innovation projects;

- Knowledge of the agricultural inputs and agricultural technologies market;
- Experience in product development, product Registration, or Research and Development processes;
