This position involves establishing an independent research program, supervising students, and potential collaboration across departments. It is a Contract Academic Staff role without tenure eligibility.

About the Department and Institution

The Department is part of the School of Biomedical Sciences within McGill's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, located in Montreal. The LDI is a leading research institute within the Jewish General Hospital, affiliated with CCOMTL and part of the McGill Integrated University Health Network, renowned for excellence in various biomedical fields.

The research environment includes state-of-the-art facilities, biobanks, and clinical resources, fostering innovative research on viral infections and immune responses.

Research Focus and Responsibilities

The candidate will develop a research program to understand viral diseases and host responses, including areas such as:

• Emerging and pandemic viruses
• Innate and adaptive immune responses
• Immuno-metabolism
• Genomic and proteomic analyses of host responses
• Host-microbe interactions

The appointment is for three years, renewable, with potential for long-term support based on performance. The candidate will have access to extensive resources and a competitive startup package.
