PALO IT seeks a Senior Backend Java Engineer to design, develop, and optimize robust backend solutions in modern microservices-based architectures. You will work with Java 8+ frameworks, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD within an AI-native engineering culture.

You will collaborate in agile teams, implement SOLID principles, and ensure security best practices while working across relational and NoSQL databases. English communication is essential for global collaboration.

Qualificações

5+ years of experience developing backend applications in Java.
Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
Strong command of frameworks such as Spring Boot and Jakarta EE.
Advanced experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
Deep knowledge of ORMs such as Hibernate or JPA.
Experience with automated testing (unit and API testing).
Strong understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, and security practices.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Advanced Git skills and Agile methodologies (Scrum).
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
Advanced English (spoken and written) to collaborate with global teams.

Responsabilidades

Design, develop, and maintain backend applications in Java, ensuring high availability and performance.
Design and implement robust RESTful APIs with versioning, authentication, and documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.
Build microservices and endpoints using Spring Boot and Jakarta EE.
Manage and integrate relational and NoSQL databases efficiently.
Implement and optimize data access with ORMs like Hibernate or JPA.
Develop unit tests and automated API tests using JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, and Postman/Newman.
Apply SOLID principles, design patterns, and secure development practices (OWASP).
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Collaborate in agile teams, participate in code reviews and PR management.
Identify bottlenecks, perform profiling, and optimize production performance.
Work in international environments, documenting APIs in English.

Your Role

As a Senior Backend Java Engineer , you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing robust, scalable, and secure backend solutions within modern microservices-based architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend applications in Java (Java 8+), ensuring high availability and performance.
Design and implement robust RESTful APIs , including versioning, authentication, and documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.
Build microservices and endpoints using frameworks such as Spring Boot and/or Jakarta EE.
Manage and integrate relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Redis) efficiently.
Implement and optimize data access using ORMs such as Hibernate or JPA.
Develop unit tests and automated API tests using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers , and Postman/Newman.
Apply SOLID principles , design patterns, and secure development best practices (OWASP, data validation, error handling).
Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or others).
Collaborate in agile teams (Scrum), actively participating in code reviews and pull request management.
Identify bottlenecks, perform profiling, and optimize performance in production environments.
Work in international environments, communicating technical solutions and documenting APIs in English.

Who You Are

5+ years of experience developing backend applications in Java.
Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
Strong command of frameworks such as Spring Boot and/or Jakarta EE.
Advanced experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
Deep knowledge of ORMs such as Hibernate or JPA.
Experience with automated testing (unit and API testing).
Strong understanding of SOLID principles , design patterns, and application security practices.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
Advanced Git skills and experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum).

AI-Native Engineering (Core Expectation)

Use Generative AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) as a first-class engineering assistant for:
Code scaffolding and refactoring
Code generation and optimisation
Test-cases and documentation generation
Build applications through AI-driven development practices , including:
AI-assisted debugging and troubleshooting
Intelligent code completion and pattern recognition
Automated documentation generation
Apply prompt engineering best practices for reliable, repeatable engineering outcomes.
Validate GenAI output (determinism checks, guardrails, fallback logic).
