Job summary

Nortal LATAM is seeking a Senior AI Agentic Engineer to design secure, scalable agentic workflows that connect AI to enterprise data and tools. You’ll own production code, mentor teammates, and shape technical direction.

Work with US clients, implement MCP integrations, ensure security, testing, monitoring, and cost awareness, and participate in Nortal's growth through technical interviews and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related STEM field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years with Python/JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong skills in React, API development, app architecture, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience building AI-assisted applications, agentic workflows, or tool-calling solutions.
• Experience with MCP, structured outputs, context management, or comparable frameworks.
• Experience with authentication, authorization, RBAC, and secure coding practices.
• Full lifecycle experience from requirements to production support.
• Bonus: Databricks/Unity Catalog/GitLab CI/CD or privacy and AI governance controls.
• Advanced English required for US client collaboration.

About The Project

We're looking for a senior engineer to help a US client build secure enterprise applications and AI agents that do real work. You'll design agentic workflows that connect AI to the client's data and tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and you'll make sure they hold up in production: secure, tested, monitored, and easy for other teams to reuse.

This is a self-directed role. You'll work closely with domain experts and product managers, help shape technical direction across teams, and mentor other engineers along the way.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build secure enterprise applications with React, TypeScript, Python, and API services.
• Build agentic workflows and MCP integrations that connect AI applications to enterprise data and tools.
• Implement structured outputs, workflow state management, human approval steps, and error recovery.
• Build authentication, authorization, role-based access control (RBAC), and audit logging.
• Set up AI evaluation, guardrails, tracing, and monitoring to track quality, safety, performance, and cost.
• Work with domain experts and product managers to turn requirements into solutions that scale.
• Design reusable, configuration-driven components that other teams can pick up and use.
• Own your code in production, including tests and documentation.
• Mentor other engineers and help guide technical direction across teams.
• Take part in Nortal's Technical Interviewer Program, conducting technical interviews for your account and other accounts to help build the teams behind Nortal's growth.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Strong skills in React, API development, application architecture, automated testing, and CI/CD.

• Full lifecycle experience, from requirements and architecture to deployment and production support.
• Bonus if you've worked with Databricks, Unity Catalog, or data lakes; GitLab CI/CD; policy-as-code or infrastructure-as-code; data marketplaces, governance platforms, or internal developer platforms; or privacy, security, and AI governance controls in regulated environments.
• Advanced English Level is required for this role as you will work with US clients. Effective communication in English is essential to deliver the best solutions to our clients and expand your horizons.
