Job summary

NASS Group & Corporation seeks an experienced Testing & Commissioning Electrical Engineer in Bahrain to plan, manage, and execute electrical testing on MEP projects. You will evaluate results, prepare documentation, and present findings while ensuring safety and standards compliance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with testing 11kV panels, RMUs, transformers, HV/LV cables, and related equipment, plus familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical testing and commissioning for MEP/power distribution/construction projects.
• Certifications in Testing & Commissioning are an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and electrical drawings.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, BS, and local electrical standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute electrical testing and commissioning activities per procedures and schedules.
• Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, relay protection, primary/secondary injection tests, and more.
• Analyze test results, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare testing procedures, inspection checklists, and commissioning reports.
• Coordinate testing with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, authorities, and clients.
• Witness inspections and obtain approvals from consultants/clients.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE/BS standards and project specs.
• Support handover with complete and approved testing documentation.
• Ensure HSE compliance throughout testing activities.

Job Summary

The Testing & Commissioning Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, and executing electrical testing and commissioning activities for MEP projects. The role includes evaluating test results, preparing technical documentation, and presenting findings to clients and consultants while ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and applicable industry standards.

The ideal candidate must have strong hands‑on experience in testing medium‑and low‑voltage electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute electrical testing and commissioning activities in accordance with approved procedures and project schedules
• Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, contact resistance, relay protection, primary and secondary injection, cable integrity, and functional tests
• Analyze and evaluate test results, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare testing procedures, method statements, inspection checklists, commissioning reports, and as‑built documentation
• Coordinate testing activities with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, utility authorities, and clients
• Witness inspections and testing with consultants and clients and obtain the necessary approvals
• Ensure all testing activities comply with IEC, IEEE, local authority regulations, and project specifications
• Support project handover by ensuring all testing documentation is complete and approved
• Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements throughout all testing and commissioning activities

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional certifications in Testing & Commissioning are an advantage
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical testing and commissioning within MEP, power distribution, or construction projects
• Proven hands‑on experience in testing and commissioning of:
  • 11kV Panels/Switchgear
  • Power Transformers
  • Ring Main Units (RMUs)
  • HV & LV Cables
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, BS, and local electrical standards
• Ability to read and interpret single‑line diagrams, protection schemes, and electrical drawings
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
• Proficient in using electrical testing equipment, including:
  • Insulation Resistance Testers (Megger)
  • Earth Resistance Testers
  • Primary & Secondary Injection Test Sets
  • Transformer Test Equipment
  • Cable Fault and Cable Testing Equipment
