Job summary

Talabat is seeking a Specialist Category Management to grow our Fresh Food range for tMart across the region. The role focuses on managing fresh categories, coordinating with suppliers, and driving promotions and assortment decisions.

You will analyse price quotations, monitor freshness, and collaborate with demand planners to ensure timely delivery of quality products. This fast-paced, international team values detail-oriented problem solvers and strategic thinkers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in progressive development and management of multiple fresh food categories, in an international setting.
• Techical fresh food knowledge enabling accurate information.
• Profitability, margin calculations and benchmarking knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Collect weekly price quotations from produce suppliers and propose item allocations based on cost and supplier service levels.
• Collect retail audits from competition.
• Generate daily/weekly availability, shrinkage and sales reports to drive category insights.
• Set up, launch, and activate promotional campaigns in the internal promo tool.
• Visit central market for seasonal items and select items.
• Visit tMart stores to monitor freshness and quality.
• Work with demand planners and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fresh food products.
• Handle admin tasks like updating price changes and app content.
• Follow up with suppliers on listings, pricing and product availability.
• Handle any ad hoc requests from the manager.

What's On Your Plate?
Assists FF Category Manager in:

• Collect weekly price quotations from produce suppliers, compile data, and propose items allocations based on cost- supplier service levels

What you need to be successful

What Did We Order?

• You have at least 3+ years of experience in progressive development and management of multiple fresh food categories, matured by working for large retailers (FMCG), in an international setting.
• You have technical fresh food knowledge that enables you to provide your manager with accurate information
• Has decent commercial knowledge such as profitability, margin calculations and feasibility and benchmarking knowledge.
• You are very detail-oriented, structured and know how to prioritize -- you consider yourself as someone who delivers solutions and not bottlenecks to be solved.
