Job summary

The Specialist Category Management - Fresh Food role supports the FF Category Manager by collecting weekly quotations from produce suppliers, compiling data, and proposing item allocations based on cost and supplier service levels. You will visit central markets and tMart stores to monitor freshness and seasonality.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in fresh food category management within large FMCG retailers, in an international setting.

• Experience in an international setting is preferred.
• Strong commercial knowledge: profitability, margins, benchmarking, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with demand planners and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fresh products.
• Handle admin tasks like updating price changes and app content.

Job Description

Assists FF Category Manager in: Collect weekly price quotations from produce suppliers, compile data, and propose items allocations based on cost- supplier service levels Collecting retail audit from competition Generate daily/weekly availability performance, shrinkage, and sales reports to help drive category insights. Set up, launch, and activate promotional campaigns directly within the internal promo tool. Visit the central market and get update on new seasonal items available in market and decide on item selection Visit to tMart stores to monitor freshness and quality Work closely with the demand planners and the suppliers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of fresh food products. Working on admin related duties like updating price changes, rank change content update on the app etc Following up with suppliers on listings, pricing, product availability Any other ad hoc requests from the manager

Desired Candidate Profile

You have at least 3+ years of experience in progressive development and management of multiple fresh food categories, matured by working for large retailers (FMCG), in an international setting. You have technical fresh food knowledge that enables you to provide your manager with accurate information Has decent commercial knowledge such as profitability, margin calculations and feasibility and benchmarking knowledge. You are very detail-oriented, structured and know how to prioritize -- you consider yourself as someone who delivers solutions and not bottlenecks to be solved.
