Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in UNIX/Linux Systems Administration.
• Proven expertise in root-cause troubleshooting and incident resolution.
• Experience performing operating system upgrades and lifecycle management activities.
• Strong hands-on experience with patch management and firmware upgrade processes.
• Engineering-level expertise supporting virtualized environments.
• Experience with Logical Domains (LDOMs).
• Strong VMware administration experience.
• Hands-on experience with KVM virtualization platforms.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
• Deep understanding of Solaris SPARC infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Enterprise Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of enterprise server hardware architectures and infrastructure platforms.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including switching, routing, and VLAN technologies.
• Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain UNIX and Linux server environments.
• Perform operating system upgrades, lifecycle patching, and firmware updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex operating system, hardware, and infrastructure issues.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for critical incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Manage and support Solaris SPARC and Enterprise Linux platforms.
• Maintain virtualized environments across LDOMs, VMware, KVM, and Hyper-V.
• Monitor system performance and implement optimization initiatives.
• Support infrastructure resilience, availability, and disaster recovery requirements.
• Collaborate with network teams to support connectivity, routing, switching, and VLAN-related configurations.
• Manage server security, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, system procedures, and operational standards.
• Participate in infrastructure modernization and continuous improvement projects.
