Job description
Responsibilities
Review and interpret tender documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules to clearly define project scope and estimation assumptions.
Perform detailed heat load calculations and assist in selecting appropriate CHW and DX HVAC systems in line with project requirements and energy standards.
Prepare accurate quantity take‑offs for equipment, ducting, piping, insulation, controls, and accessories.
Develop comprehensive and competitive cost estimates covering material, labor, subcontracting, logistics, and overheads.
Prepare detailed bills of quantities (BOQs), cost breakdowns, and pricing summaries for tenders and proposals.
Issue technical and commercial inquiries to suppliers and subcontractors and follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotations.
Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for technical compliance, commercial accuracy, and alignment with specifications.
Assist in identifying cost‑saving opportunities through value engineering while maintaining system performance and compliance.
Support preparation of technical submittals, compliance statements, and estimation clarifications for tender submissions.
Conduct site visits and surveys, when required, to validate drawings, identify constraints, and refine estimation assumptions.
Coordinate closely with sales, engineering, procurement, and project teams to finalize tender submissions.
Prepare clarification responses and revisions during tender negotiation and post‑bid stages.
Maintain and update estimation databases, cost norms, supplier price lists, and historical project cost records.
Support risk identification by highlighting commercial, technical, and execution‑related cost exposures.
Assist in preparing variation estimates and change order pricing during post‑award stages, if required.
Ensure timely submission of estimates in line with tender deadlines and internal review processes.
Support smooth handover of awarded projects to execution teams with clear scope, pricing, and assumptions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 4–6 years of experience in HVAC estimation, preferably within contracting or project sales.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including CHW, DX, VRF, ducted split, and packaged units.
Proven experience in heat load calculations, BOQ preparation, and tender estimation.
Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and commercial requirements accurately.
Good coordination and communication skills with internal teams and suppliers.
