Industry Engineering Sales and Business Development (MEP/HVAC/Firefighting)

Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical Location: Bahrain Division & Department: Precontract & Technical Services Role Summary The Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical is responsible for providing technical and commercial support during the pre-contract tendering stage.
The role involves preparing accurate quantity take-offs for Plumbing, Drainage, HVAC, and Mechanical Infrastructure systems, coordinating supplier and subcontractor enquiries, and supporting the preparation of competitive and compliant tender submissions.
The successful candidate will work closely with the estimation team to ensure accurate costing, timely procurement inputs, and high-quality tender documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and measurements from tender drawings, specifications, and related documents for Mechanical systems.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers and subcontractors for Mechanical works.
• Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain timely and competitive quotations.
• Review and evaluate quotations to ensure compliance with project specifications and tender requirements.
• Assist in the preparation and updating of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates.
• Support the Senior Mechanical Estimator in preparing tender submissions and pricing proposals.
• Review tender drawings and identify discrepancies, omissions, or design conflicts.
• Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) and coordinate technical clarifications with consultants and clients.
• Attend site visits when required to assess project conditions and Mechanical installation requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of quantity take-offs, quotations, and tender documentation.
• Utilize AutoCAD, PlanSwift/Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel effectively to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet tender submission deadlines and project requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Qualifications Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Mechanical Quantity Surveying, Estimation, or Tendering within the construction or MEP industry.
• Technical Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in PlanSwift and/or Bluebeam for quantity take-offs.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of Plumbing, Drainage, HVAC, and Mechanical Infrastructure systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight tender deadlines.
