Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of direct experience with Navy Ordnance Information System (OIS) and AA&E management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and military correspondence; strong verbal and written communication.
  • Working knowledge of installation- and strategic-level logistics programs and ordnance management systems (NARS, ATR, NAVSUP-P 724, OP5, DPAS).

Overview

As a TAG Ordnance Inventory Specialist, you will provide mission-critical operational and administrative support to Naval Special Warfare Group One (NSWG-1) at forward-deployed locations in Bahrain. In this role, you will support the readiness and sustainment of Naval Special Warfare forces by delivering essential garrison and operational support services that enable reception, staging, onward movement, and integration of deployed personnel. You will play a key role in maintaining uninterrupted mission capabilities by supplementing government personnel and ensuring high-quality support in accordance with established performance standards.

  • Must possess active SECRET clearance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and support the handling, storage, accountability, transportation, receipt, and issue of ammunition, explosives, and related ordnance at NSW Detachment Guam and remote operating locations, ensuring 100% accountability through OIS and applicable Navy regulations.
  • Process and maintain all required documentation, transportation schedules, inventory records, expenditure metrics, and ordnance management files in accordance with OPNAV, NAVSUP, and other applicable directives.
  • Manage hazardous materials shipments by land, sea, and air in compliance with Department of Transportation (49 CFR), International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code, International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations, and applicable U.S. military requirements.
  • Advise Weapons Department personnel on ordnance accountability, safety, forecasting, movement, regulatory compliance, and operational procedures; review policies and recommend process improvements.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, discrepancy investigations, ammunition allowance reviews, and NCEA augmentation requests; implement corrective actions and provide recommendations to command leadership.
  • Establish and maintain required logistics accounts, including the Joint Munitions Command Price and Availability account, to support JCET training munitions requisitions.
  • Ensure hazardous waste and recyclable materials are properly identified, segregated, labeled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations and storage time limits.
  • Obtain required sponsorship documentation and visas for temporary travel to mission-essential locations, as required.
  • Enter, maintain, and validate data across multiple databases, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and proper cross-referencing of records.
  • Retrieve, compile, and analyze data to support customer and vendor inquiries, identify trends, deficiencies, accomplishments, and transaction patterns, and generate reports to support operational requirements.
  • Research and resolve data discrepancies, transaction errors, and supply-related issues; escalate complex issues to appropriate Government personnel with documented findings and recommendations.
  • Conduct detailed research of complex or unusual supply transactions, preparing reports and other documentation to support customer requirements and program management.
  • Evaluate existing processes and automated systems, analyze the effectiveness of current procedures, and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and data integrity.
Position Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. passport (maintained throughout contract performance) and a valid state driver's license; able to operate Government-owned trucks and vans (CDL not required unless specified).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience with the Navy Ordnance Information System (OIS) and Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E) management. Equivalent experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis with COR approval.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), standard business software, and military correspondence; strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Working knowledge of installation- and strategic-level logistics programs, ordnance management systems, including NARS, ATR, NAVSUP-P 724, OP5, DPAS, or equivalent Government property management systems.
